Munster is an independent city in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, located in the northern part of the state and considered to be the cultural centre of the Westphalia region. It is also a city for students, with almost 50,000 in the University of Münster, one of Germany's largest institutions of higher education.
How to Get There:
Düsseldorf International Airport is about 80 minutes by train from Münster, whereas Munster-Osnabrück Airport is only a 30-minute drive from the city. The latter has grown considerably in recent years, offering flights across Europe, including London (Stansted), Berlin and Amsterdam, mainly by low cost carriers like Ryanair. Munster Hauptbahnhof is very well connected by rail and connection by road are equally good.
